The Brick Path Guest Suites is located in the area of North Berkeley near popular Solano Avenue’s shops and restaurants. We are approximately two miles from the University of California and Downtown Berkeley.
A Walkable Neighborhood
Depending on what activities you are planning during your visit, it is possible to manage without a car. We are just around the corner from Solano Avenue, which has plenty of good restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as a very nice grocery store with deli half a block away.
The Gourmet Ghetto is just a mile away.
North Berkeley BART is about 25-30 minutes on foot.
Downtown Berkeley is a 30-40 minute walk.
UC Berkeley is about a 30 minute walk.
And you won’t want to miss the opportunity to explore the many pathways in Berkeley…
Start with Indian Rock Path…
The best views in town are from Indian Rock Park. Just a short walk from The Brick Path Guest Suites, the park has large rock outcroppings that offer 360-degree views across Berkeley and Oakland and over the Bay into San Francisco. This is a great place to watch the sunset before or after dinner on Solano Avenue.
The main outcropping, Indian Rock (shown here), is a practice site for rock climbers.
There is a bus stop right around the corner from the Brick Path Guest Suites… A 10 minute ride to Downtown Berkeley, UC Berkeley and BART. Or you can walk 1.75 miles to North Berkeley BART.
And with a car….
You will need a car to venture further into Berkeley and Oakland, as well as to visit places in San Francisco not easily accessible by BART. A car is also great to have if you are thinking of any of the great day trips in the vicinity, such as Point Reyes, Napa Valley, Petaluma, Muir Woods, etc.…
We are two miles from the freeways – and parking is usually fairly easy in the neighborhood.
